Arthur Christmas is a 2011 British/American 3-D computer animated Christmas comedy film, produced by Aardman Animations and Sony Pictures Animation as their first collaborative project. Set on Christmas night, the film tells a story about the Santa Claus’ clumsy son Arthur Claus who discovers that the Santas’ high-tech ship has failed to deliver one girl’s present, goes on a mission to save her Christmas, accompanied only by his aging grandfather, a rebellious yet enthusiastic young Christmas Elf obsessed with wrapping gifts for children, and a team of eight strong, magical yet untrained reindeer.
Frederic : We couldn’t have finished this series in a better way than we did with Arthur Christmas, because along with Love Actually, it simply is the most beautiful Christmas film ever made. You get all the right feelings at the right moments ; it’s funny, cute, wonderful, funny. It makes you travel round the world and even beyond to shine the light of magic across the universe. Arthur Christmas is the one film to watch for a joyful and very happy Christmas Eve.
Joshua: “Arthur Christmas” wasn’t in German cinemas at all. I have never heard of it. But after watching it, It really surprised me. “Arthur Christmas” is the modern Christmas animation movie, I have always dreamed of. Watching Arthur, the son of Santa Claus, to give a present to the last child without a Christmas present is just pure fun. Well done, Sony!
Luke: Fresh, clean and fun animated adventure for the family. I love Aardmann animation, they have produced some timeless stop motion animation like Wallace and Gromit and Chicken Run, Arthur Christmas is full of funny and sly jokes, entertaining characters and such a fantastic cast of James McAvoy and Hugh Laurie. It also takes the Santa Clause style to a brand new level which makes the film fun and energetic.
