Home Alone is a 1990 American Christmas family comedy film written and produced by John Hughes and directed by Chris Columbus. The film stars Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister, an eight-year-old boy who is mistakenly left behind when his family flies to Paris for their Christmas vacation. Kevin initially relishes being home alone, but soon has to contend with two would-be burglars played by Daniel Stern and Joe Pesci. The film also features Catherine O’Hara and John Heard as Kevin’s parents. As of 2009, Home Alone was the highest-grossing comedy of all time.
Frederic : This film is starting to get old. It’s nice, fun, still pleasant to see, but certainly not the best Christmas film anymore. It really works and is great for a good laugh when you’re about the age of the boy but it doesn’t hold a strong enough federative tone for everyone to completely enjoy it and you get to find the story of the neighbour more touching in the end. The music is very beautiful in this film.
Joshua: “Home Alone” is one of the most known Christmas movie worldwide. And I must say that this movie is really entertaining, but it also has its weak moments. The scenes where the boy tries to get rid of the thieves are the best.
Luke : It’s an alright film, but as the years have progressed it has become rather a boar to watch, at times it can be funny but at other times it turns the other cheek and I don’t like the fact that the lead is performed by such an obnoxious boy.
